EYP Austria

We are very pleased to announce the new partnership between EYP Austria and Junge Europäische Föderalisten Österreich (JEF). It is a common goal to encourage young people all over Europe to meet, exchange opinions and discuss current European topics, hence we are looking forward to all our future projects with JEF!

The 11. National Selection Conference of the EYP Austria will be held, for the first time, in Vienna. The three-day session will host 126 participants; delegations of five people from 13 Austrian schools as well as international delegates, international chairersons and also an international press team.

The primary goals of this session are to discuss important European topics and, secondly, selecting two delegations to represent Austria in the International Session in Lviv (Ukraine) in autumn, respectively in Athens (Greece) in spring 2011.
The selection will be made by an independent jury. Still, we must emphasise that the session is rather a chance for cultural exchange, discussion and making new friends.

It is with immense sadness and in shock that we must inform fellow EYP-alumni and active members of the sudden, unexpected and deeply tragic death of a former EYPer and friend, Harald Paulitsch.

Harald died on April 15th at the age of only 28. He was among the founding members of EYP Austria back in 1999 and participated in many international and national sessions. We will always remember Harald as a young man full of spirit, who was deeply honest. It was a privilege to have spent time with him at EYP session, board meetings, board outings or simply parties.
It is only now that we realise, that EYP friendships bring you good times and laughter, but - like all friendships - do not prepare you for tragic moments like this.
